Remission- February 9

Big day.

On Monday, they drew some of the fluid from Leo’s spine to check for what they call “minimum residual disease.” That’s doctor talk for leukemia cells still active and unaffected by the chemo. Having those cells still active necessitates stronger and longer chemo. Lacking them means remission and a great hope for the permanent eradication of cancer from his blood.

The doc just called.

There is no minimal residual disease.

His cancer is gone into remission.

Five more months of chemo, but far less than he had been receiving.

Three years to guarantee it’s gone.

Thank you, Jesus. My boy’s life is saved.
